This is the retelling of the story of Jesus walking on water in the bible. We explained that after Jesus finished teaching and feeding thousands of people, he wanted to pray alone. He asked his disciples to cross over to Bethsaida on a boat. But while they crossed, a storm arose. Jesus walked on water to meet them. Peter asked to walk on water too. He did – until he became afraid and started to sink. But Jesus saved him from sinking. Everyone was amazed at the miracle! 

What does the story mean for kids? Kids will learn that Jesus has power over everything, including the wind, waves, and seas. Also, Jesus is always with us, and we are never alone. Finally, if we trust in Jesus, we can do great things – just like Peter walked on water too.    

The bible references for the story are as follows: Matthew 14:22-33; Mark 6:45-51.
