This is the retelling of the history of how sin entered the world through the disobedience of Adam and Eve.
While explaining this story to your students, it is important to emphasize the following:
- Everyone is born a sinner because of the disobedience of Adam and Eve (Romans 3:23).
- There is a consequence for sin. When we choose disobedience, we can’t run away from the consequences (Romans 6:23).
- Despite our sins, God loves us very much. He sent His son, Jesus, to die for our sin. Jesus paid the price for our sin (John 3:16).
- God is always ready to forgive and save from sin. Are you ready to ask God for forgiveness today? (1 John 1:9)
What does this story mean for kids? Kids will learn that Jesus paid the price for our sins. If we believe in Jesus, He will save us from sins. It is important to not blame others for the wrong choices we make – students will be encouraged to take responsibility for their choices and actions. Finally, there is a consequence for disobedience.
The bible references for this story are Genesis 2:16; 3: 1 -24; Romans 3:23; John 3:16-19.
