The story of Lazarus

This is the retelling of the story of Lazarus in the bible. It is a Bible Story Teaching Pack, complete with activities to reinforce and assess learning.

We explained that Lazarus fell sick. Then, his sisters – Mary and Martha sent for Jesus. But Jesus delayed his visit and Lazarus died. Mary and Martha surely thought that was the end of Lazarus, but Jesus showed his great power and authority over death. Jesus prayed for Lazarus, and he came back to life! Then, many people believed in Jesus. 

What does the story mean for kids? Kids will learn that we can trust in God even when we don’t understand everything. Also, Jesus has power over death and can do miracles. Finally, kids will know that they can talk to God, and when they do, God listens and hears their prayers.   

The bible references for the story are as follows: John 11:1 – 45.  

We ask that you take the time to prayerfully read the bible references provided and study the materials too. We pray “that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him” (Ephesians 1:17)

Our desire, hope and joy is that each child might come to experience love and grace in Jesus as they understand His words.
