This is the retelling of the story of Noah and the flood in the book of Genesis.
While explaining this story to your students, it is important to emphasize the following:
- God wants us to do what is right even when others are choosing to do what is wrong (Proverbs 1:10).
- God cares for everything He created including you (Matthew 6:26).
- God is always faithful and keeps His promises (Numbers 23:19).
- Sin comes with consequences, but God is merciful (Romans 6:23; 2 Peter 3:9)
What does the story mean for kids? Kids will learn that it is good to do what is right, even when everyone else is choosing to do the wrong thing. God takes care of everyone and everything He created, just like God took care of Noah, his family and the animals in the ark. Finally, kids will be encouraged to trust in the promises of God because God is faithful and He will always keep His promises.
The bible references for this story are Genesis chapters 6 to 9: 1 – 17.
