More, more

Jamie is just a toddler who has no idea of what is happening in the world around him. But he is slowly learning to respond to instructions, express himself, and develop in so many ways. He is building his vocabulary as he picks up new words from family members.

He has recently learnt a new word and he likes to say the word twice – “more, more”.

When Jamie asked for “more, more” mac and cheese, his mother Ember gave him three spoonfuls.

“More, more”, Jamie said again.

“Sorry dear, we don’t have any more left in the house, so, you can’t have more”, Ember calmly explained.

“More, more”, Jamie cried this time, pointing to the kitchen. He was so sure there was more left.

The Scriptures make us to understand that the earth is the LORD’s, and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein (Psalms 24:1). There’s never a resource depletion with God. We have an assurance through His word that He is more than able to provide for all our needs. And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).

Our God is a benevolent and merciful Father, who … makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust (Matthew 5:45). He provides for the needs of His creation, including those who haven’t accepted and believed in Him.

There are, however, special blessings reserved for those who fear Him and walk in God’s righteousness. The death of Jesus on the cross has paved a way for us to access blessings beyond the general creation blessings. These include justification, redemption, Sonship, reconciliation, forgiveness, eternal life, indwelling of the Holy Spirit, peace that the world cannot give, and many more.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace (Ephesians 1:3-7).

God is ready to pour “more, more” blessings into our lives. Repent from your sin and believe on Jesus Christ as the Lord and Saviour of your life today if you haven’t, and then, you can access these blessings.
