When we see Jesus

Maria had a very busy day at work – there was a deadline coming up and she needed to submit her report in time. After work, she had to go shopping for a few items.

By the time she got home, she was already exhausted. Yet, she had to prepare for the next day before she went to bed. Her husband had already tucked their only son, Jason, in bed; and had done the dishes.

But Maria still had to review a presentation that was due 8a.m the next day. So, she slept very late that night.

Early the next morning, with tired eyes, she woke up to prepare for the day. She quickly made breakfast and packed food into lunchboxes for Jason, herself, and her husband.

“Thank you, Mummy,” Jason said a second time, as he ate his breakfast.

“Thanks, Jason. But for what?” Maria asked looking surprised.

“This food is yummy. I like it!” he explained.

Maria felt her eyes becoming moist with tears.

“Thank you very much my angel,” she said. “That is a very kind thing to say.”

All the stress she’s been through seemed to melt away in that moment with her son.

When we see Jesus, we will not remember all the challenges we faced on earth as He will wipe all tears away from our eyes.

And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away. Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful” (Revelation 21:4-5).

When we see Jesus

Yes, things are becoming more challenging by the day. We can’t seem to escape the stress of work, raising children, caring for family, attending to our friends, church commitments and many such things. But we can see Jesus in these challenges before we meet Him face-to-face. We can fix our eyes on Jesus as we trust Him to give us the grace and wisdom we need to go through and overcome our challenges.

Are you becoming tired and discouraged? Please hang in there. Let the God of all comfort encourage your heart.“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God” (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).

God is going to make all things new. Before then, He said, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in [your] weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9).

Are you still deciding on whether to accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour? Today is your day of salvation. Don’t delay any longer, there is no time to wait. Jesus is waiting to receive you with open arms. Call on His name today and be saved.

For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved (Romans 10:13).
