1. Introduction
Welcome to WordRenew.
WordRenew is a Christian mobile application designed to help users engage with Scripture through curated Bible verses, prayers, declarations, reflections, journeys, journal entries, saved content, and reminders.
These Terms of Use explain the rules for using the WordRenew mobile application and related services.
By downloading, accessing, creating an account for, or using WordRenew, you agree to these Terms of Use.
If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use WordRenew.

2. Using WordRenew
You may use WordRenew for your personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms.
You agree not to:
- Use WordRenew for unlawful purposes.
- Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the app or its services.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems, or data.
- Copy, reproduce, distribute, or exploit WordRenew content except where permitted by law or with our permission.
- Reverse engineer, modify, or attempt to extract the app’s source code except where applicable law permits this.
- Use WordRenew in a way that could harm the app, its users, or our services.
We may suspend or restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect WordRenew, its users, or our services.
3. Accounts and Security
Some features of WordRenew may require you to create an account.
You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate information when creating your account.
- Keeping your account credentials secure.
- Activities that occur through your account, where permitted by applicable law.
Please contact us if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
Authentication methods may include:
- Email and password
- Google Sign-In
4. WordRenew Content
WordRenew provides faith-based content that may include:
- Bible verses and Scripture references.
- Prayers.
- Declarations.
- Reflections.
- Habit actions.
- Journeys.
- Notifications and reminders.
This content is provided for personal encouragement, reflection, and spiritual growth.
WordRenew is not a substitute for professional medical, mental health, legal, financial, pastoral, or other professional advice.
If you are experiencing an emergency or believe that you or someone else may be in immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency services or qualified professional in your area.
5. Bible Translations and Scripture Content
WordRenew may use one or more Bible translations.
The translations included in the app will be identified within the app or in relevant acknowledgements.
Current translations:
- King James Version (KJV)
- Amplified Bible (AMP)
Where required, Scripture quotations, translations, trademarks, copyright notices, or other acknowledgements will be displayed in accordance with the applicable rights and permissions.
We may add, remove, or update Bible translations in future versions of WordRenew.
6. Personal Content and Journal Entries
WordRenew may allow you to create personal content, including journal entries.
You retain ownership of the personal content you create, subject to the rights needed for us to store and display that content to provide the WordRenew service.
You are responsible for the content you choose to enter into the app.
Please do not use your journal or other WordRenew features to:
- Upload unlawful content.
- Attempt to harm or interfere with our services.
- Store content that violates another person’s rights.
Your personal content is handled as described in the WordRenew Privacy Policy.
7. Your Content and Backups
We take reasonable steps to maintain WordRenew and its services. However, you should not rely on WordRenew as your only copy of important personal information.
Where practical, we recommend keeping separate copies of important journal entries or other personal content.
We do not guarantee that WordRenew will always be available or completely free from errors, interruptions, or data loss.
8. Notifications
WordRenew may provide reminders and notifications if you choose to enable them.
Notifications may include:
- Scripture reminders.
- Prayer reminders.
- Journey reminders.
You can manage notifications through the app, where available, or through your device settings.
We cannot guarantee that notifications will always be delivered at a specific time because delivery may depend on your device, operating system, internet connection, and third-party notification services.
9. Intellectual Property
WordRenew, including its name, branding, design, original content, features, and other materials, is owned by Godly Pearls and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may not use, reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit WordRenew’s content or branding without permission, except where permitted by applicable law.
Bible translations and other third-party materials remain subject to their own applicable rights, licences, and permissions.
10. App Availability and Changes
We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of WordRenew from time to time.
We may also:
- Add or remove features.
- Update content.
- Fix errors.
- Make security improvements.
- Change technical services or providers.
We will make reasonable efforts to maintain WordRenew, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.
11. Third-Party Services
WordRenew may use third-party services to operate features of the app.
These may include:
- Firebase Authentication.
- Cloud Firestore.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging.
- Firebase Analytics.
- Firebase Crashlytics.
Your use of certain third-party services may also be subject to their applicable terms and privacy policies.
12. Disclaimer
WordRenew is provided for personal spiritual encouragement and general informational purposes.
While we aim to provide thoughtful and biblically grounded content, we do not guarantee that:
- All content will meet every user’s personal needs or circumstances.
- WordRenew will always be available without interruption.
- The app will always be error-free.
- Notifications will always be delivered as scheduled.
Your use of WordRenew is at your own discretion and risk, subject to applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude rights or protections that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Godly Pearls will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from your use of, or inability to use, WordRenew.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such liability cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected where applicable.
14. Suspension or Termination
You may stop using WordRenew at any time.
You may also request deletion of your account as described in the WordRenew Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate access to WordRenew where reasonably necessary, including where:
- You seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms.
- Your use creates a security risk.
- We are required to do so by law.
- We discontinue the service.
Where appropriate, we will take reasonable steps to provide notice.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
When we make changes, we will update the Last Updated date at the top of this page.
For significant changes, we may provide additional notice through the app or another appropriate method.
By continuing to use WordRenew after updated Terms take effect, you agree to the updated Terms, where permitted by applicable law.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, except where applicable consumer protection laws require otherwise.
Any disputes will be handled subject to the laws and courts of that jurisdiction, unless applicable law provides otherwise.
